Mama Loved Christmas

She couldn't wait for the Christmas lights
To be hung in all their array
We didn't know that this was the last time
Because she was going away
Mama loved Christmas, and we all know why
Our dear Savior was born on that day
She loved to sing Christmas carols to us
By her side her babies would lay
She would tell us the story of Jesus
And how He was born in the hay
Because there was no room for him elsewhere
Jesus was born on that day
Although she left us after Christmas
We know that her soul is at rest
She shines like the bright star on our tree
For God has taken the best.
