To A Christmas Cat

christmas cat
What is the surprise that I see in your eyes,
Aloof and mysterious for me,
Silver bright eyes that hold in their spell,
Timeless enchantment I see.
The feathery snow cannot reach you within
Your diamond paned window so tight,
You sit snug secure midst your flower papered walls,
Dreaming on this Christmas night.
The human ones balanced a Santa hat firm,
Over your soft velvet ears,
Nothing can move you to stir from this place
You contemplate wisdom of seers.
Holly my precious, my bright little cat,
I see you in my special way,
Sweetheart I love you, my holly bright girl
As we share the last of this day.
