Would She?

The grand table was all dressed in white,
White lace and white linens, oh, what a sight!
Crystal goblets sparkling in the candle's light.
This was surely going to be a most special night.

A red rose was carefully arranged in a bowl.
It's colour, it's aroma, the heart of an angel's soul.
A small box rested on her plate to the side,
Waiting to be opened, for her to look inside.

Would she say yes, would it ever be no?
Would she break his heart, would she let him go?
His breath was held inside so tight.
Would she say yes to his question tonight?
